care and maintenance

Guava Quartz is a high quality, low maintenance surface that, if properly cared for, will last a lifetime. By following these few simple instructions, your Guava Quartz surface will be maintained in good condition and retain its original beauty.

For general daily cleaning, use mild soap and warm water, and rinse thoroughly for the best result. For spots and products that may stain, use a soft cloth or a non-scratch scrub pad, and a mild non-abrasive cleanser, with a neutral PH. Excessively high or low PH might damage the surface.

Try to remove all potentially staining products as soon as possible. For dried residue, a flat object such as a plastic knife can be used to gently scrape off the sticking material.

Almost any material, no matter how tough, is susceptible to scratching, and Guava Quartz is no exception. Never chop or cut directly on the quartz surface, but always use a cutting board or some other protective surface to prevent scratching.

Direct contact with extremely high heat can cause damage to Guava Quartz. Never place very hot pots, pans, kettles or other objects directly on the Guava Quartz surface. Always use a hot pad or trivet.

Take care to avoid spilling harsh chemicals such as drain cleaners, paint strippers, oven cleaners, bleaches, etc on your Guava Quartz countertop. Guava Quartz can be permanently damaged by exposure to strong chemicals and solvents that undermine its physical properties. Should your surface accidentally be exposed to any of these damaging products, rinse immediately with water to neutralize the effect.

No. Typically, depending on the type of granite, they are around the same price. There are many types of granite and marble that are more expensive than Guava Quartz.

Guava Quartz is very hard and impermeable, but it still needs to be treated with care. If you spill something on the surface, wipe it off as soon as possible to avoid any staining. Check out our Care and Maintenance for more information.

Yes. The surface of Guava Quartz is exceptionally hard and non-porous, and has a very low microbial growth rating. It has NSF/ANSI 51 certification from the Public Health and Safety Company, making it safe to use in restaurants and other places where strict sanitary conditions need to be met. Nevertheless, care should always be taken when preparing food, and the surface should be cleaned and disinfected regularly.

Yes. Guava Quartz is available in 1.5cm, 2cm, and 3cm thicknesses. We offer both regular (300cm x 140cm) and jumbo (320cm x 160cm) sized slabs.  Our exclusive Verona series is also available in 8mm thickness.

Guava Quartz has similar properties to granite and marble, so any edge profile that can be done on these materials can be done on Guava Quartz. Talk to your fabricator about your edge profile options.

Guava Quartz offers direct savings due to low overheads and competitive advantages. We do this without compromising quality
